You see the big, gigantic "download" button? Don't click that. So I'm gonna tell you very specifically where to click to get what you want. THEY ALSO WANT TO GIVE YOU THINGS YOU DON'T WANT Sigh NOW HERE'S THE THING ABOUT WEBSITES THAT GIVE YOU WHAT YOU WANT I probably haven't used whatever specific site that is, and everyone's google results are slightly different, so I'm just gonna link you to the one that was at the top of my search result: The guy in the video sneakily tells you the kind of method you'll have to undergo to get it at the 2:14 mark. That's why it doesn't come with all the other stuff from the same site. I say "theoretically" because the tricky-tricky of emulation is that you can get everything straight-up off reliable-ish websites, except for the BIOS - don't worry about what they are, I don't know what they are, they're just a macguffin that the emulator needs to run, and they're the only component that's legally wonky to offer people to download directly, so you normally have to find a workaround. This theoretically guides you through what you need. That's not an option for someone who doesn't have 10+ years experience doing the thing, and the knobs work differently for everyone's setup. Personally I just muddle through the settings having a baseline of 10+ years fucking with these knobs to get them to work right and eventually I get it right. There's a bunch of different emulators and they all work slightly/wildly differently. It normally runs at a pretty slow clip, and all I wanted when I was playing on the PS2 was to be able to just crank it to go way faster. Here's the thing I also think it's the way better way to play the game. I don't wanna oversell how difficult it is to understand, because eventually I got it so it can't be that hard, but also it's not quite plug-and-play simple yet.Īnd if your computer hardware isn't up to a certain standard then it might not run the thing the way you want it to. It's just that once you tell someone "download this thing then go into the settings", their eyes just glaze over and you lost em. I feel like every time I tell someone about emulation I'm actually just explaining why they shouldn't bother? But I promise I don't mean to be. That's currently the only non-PS2 way to do so, I'm pretty sure.
